Artikel 6 Informationsaustausch zwischen der zuständigen Behörde und der EZB sowie den betreffenden Zentralbanken über das Kryptowerte-Whitepaper

This article governs the timing and mechanics of communication between the competent authority, the ECB, and where relevant, other central banks, once a crypto-asset white paper has been confirmed as complete under Article 5.

It establishes strict two-working-day deadlines running in both directions: the competent authority must promptly transmit the complete application to the ECB and relevant central banks, and those bodies must in turn promptly acknowledge receipt and provide a contact point.

Article 6 essentially bridges the completeness stage (Article 5) and the substantive consultation phase with the ECB and central banks (Article 7).

Important points:

• Competent authorities are required to transmit the complete application to the ECB and relevant central banks within 2 working days of issuing the completeness notification under Article 5.
• The ECB and relevant central banks are required to acknowledge receipt and provide a designated contact point within 2 working days of receiving the complete information.
• Both obligations are strictly time-bound, ensuring no procedural delays occur at this handover stage of the approval process.
