Article 84 Union AI testing support structures
The Commission shall designate one or more Union AI testing support structures to perform the tasks listed under Article 21(6) of Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 in the area of AI.
Without prejudice to the tasks referred to in paragraph 1, Union AI testing support structures shall also provide independent technical or scientific advice at the request of the Board, the Commission, or of market surveillance authoritiesmeans the national authority carrying out the activities and taking the measures pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2019/1020;.

In order to support adequate enforcement as regards AI systemsmeans a machine-based system that is designed to operate with varying levels of autonomy and that may exhibit adaptiveness after deployment, and that, for explicit or implicit objectives, infers, from the input it receives, how to generate outputs such as predictions, content, recommendations, or decisions that can influence physical or virtual environments; and reinforce the capacities of the Member States, Union AI testing support structures should be established and made available to the Member States.
