Summary What does Article 7 of the ITS on AMLA reporting to the EPPO say?
This is the standard entry into force and application article, which governs when this Regulation becomes legally effective and binding.
It establishes the general application date and carves out a delayed application for one specific provision — Article 3(2), which relates to AMLA's obligation to submit reporting templates in a machine-readable format — giving an additional year before that requirement kicks in.
Important points:
- The Regulation enters into force twenty days after publication in the Official Journal of the European Union, but applies from 10 July 2027.
- Article 3(2), requiring submission in machine-readable format, does not apply until 10 July 2028, one year later than the rest of the Regulation.
- The Regulation is binding in its entirety and directly applicable across all Member States, requiring no national implementing legislation.
Springlex's summary of the article is a reading aid, not a substitute for the legal text.
