Summary What does Article 12 of the ITS on FIU-to-FIU exchanges say?
This is the standard entry into force and applicability article, which governs when this Regulation takes legal effect and when specific provisions within it become operational.
While the Regulation as a whole enters into force on the twentieth day after its publication, a deferred application date is established for two specific provisions relating to the use of FIU.net and supplementary exchanges of information, reflecting the time needed for the necessary technical infrastructure to be in place.
Important points:
- The Regulation enters into force twenty days after publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
- Articles 3(4) and 11, which concern the exclusive use of FIU.net for information exchanges, do not apply until 10 July 2028.
- The Regulation is binding in its entirety and directly applicable across all Member States, requiring no transposition into national law.
