Summary What does Article 8 of the ITS on FIU-to-FIU exchanges say?

Article 8 sits within the broader framework of inter-FIU information exchange and deals specifically with the feedback loop that follows earlier exchanges.

It builds directly on the processes established in preceding articles (such as requests for information and spontaneous exchanges) by requiring FIUs to respond to feedback requests from other FIUs once they have analysed the information previously shared.

The procedural mechanics for doing so are delegated to Annex IV of the regulation.

Important points:

  • FIUs are required to provide responses to feedback requests submitted by other FIUs following prior information exchanges.
  • This obligation is triggered after either the analysis of a response to an earlier request for information or the assessment of a spontaneous exchange.
  • Follow the instructions set out in Annex IV when submitting feedback responses.

Springlex's summary of the article is a reading aid, not a substitute for the legal text.

  1. FIUs shall, in line with Article 31(6) and (7) of Directive (EU) 2024/1640, provide a response to feedback requests submitted by other FIUs, after the analysis of their response to a request for information previously made or the assessment of a spontaneous exchange, following the instructions set out in Annex IV.
