Article 7 Entry into force and application
Summary What does Article 7 of the Criteria for designating critical service providers say?
This is a brief entry-into-force article that establishes when this Regulation becomes legally applicable.
It sets the standard commencement date as twenty days after publication in the Official Journal of the European Union, but carves out a specific exception for the Lead Overseer regarding one particular sub-criterion from Article 2, which is subject to a fixed calendar date instead.
Important points:
- This Regulation enters into force twenty days after its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
- The Lead Overseer is required to apply sub-criterion 1.4 from Article 2 as of 16 January 2025, regardless of the general entry into force date.
- The deferred application of sub-criterion 1.4 applies specifically to the Lead Overseer, not to financial entities or other parties.
