Article 7 Exchange of reports between competent authorities

Summary What does Article 7 of the RTS on market abuse say?

This article governs how competent authorities transmit STORs to one another, building directly on the STOR reporting framework established earlier in the regulation.

Rather than addressing the firms that generate STORs, it focuses exclusively on the procedural obligations of competent authorities when passing those reports between themselves.

It sets out the specific form to be used for transmission and clarifies practical aspects of how the STOR and any accompanying documents should be handled in that process.

Important points:

  • Competent authorities are required to transmit STORs using the unsolicited provision of information form set out in Annex IV of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2545.
  • Competent authorities are not required to translate the STOR into the language of the receiving competent authority.
  • The transmitting competent authority must attach any additional documents included in the STOR and specify the legal basis for providing the information.
