Article 6 Date and time recording
Summary What does Article 6 of the RTS on trading platform order book records say?
Article 6 is a focused timestamping provision that sits within a broader framework of order book record-keeping obligations.
Building on the general recording requirements established earlier in the regulation, this article specifically requires crypto-asset service providers operating trading platforms to capture and maintain accurate date and time records.
This applies both to order-related events and to certain specific data elements, with the precise format for these timestamps dictated by the Annex.
Important points:
- Maintain date and time records for every order event listed in the Annex, using the format specified in field 8 of Table 2.
- Also maintain date and time records for the specific data elements found in fields 47, 48 and 49 of Table 2 of the Annex.
- The obligation falls on crypto-asset service providers operating a trading platform for crypto-assets.
