This is a short procedural article that sits within the broader beneficial ownership transparency framework of the regulation.

It creates a reporting obligation for Member States to notify the Commission of the types of legal entities under their national law, linking directly to the beneficial ownership identification rules established in Articles 51 and 52(4).

The article is essentially a coordination mechanism, ensuring the Commission and other Member States have visibility into how each national legal system categorises entities for beneficial ownership purposes.

Important points:

Member States are required to notify the Commission by 10 October 2027 with a list of legal entity types, their characteristics, legal basis, and whether the fallback mechanism under Article 63(4) applies.
The Commission must then communicate each Member State's notification to all other Member States, creating a shared information base across the Union.
Notifications must include a detailed justification where the Article 63(4) mechanism applies, meaning this is not a simple administrative filing for those cases.

Chaque État membre notifie à la Commission, au plus tard le 10 octobre 2027, une liste des types d’entités juridiques existant dans le cadre de son droit national dont les bénéficiaires effectifs sont identifiés conformément à l’article 51 et à l’article 52, paragraphe 4. Cette notification indique les catégories spécifiques d’entités, la description de leurs caractéristiques et, le cas échéant, leur base juridique en vertu du droit national de l’État membre concerné. La notification précise aussi si, en raison de la forme et des structures spécifiques des entités juridiques autres que les sociétés, le mécanisme prévu à l’article 63, paragraphe 4, s’applique, cette précision étant accompagnée d’une justification détaillée.
La Commission communique la notification visée au premier alinéa aux autres États membres.
