Article 55 Obligations of providers of general-purpose AI models with systemic risk
In addition to the obligations listed in Articles 53 and 54, providers of general-purpose AI models with systemic risk means the potential for loss or disruption caused by an incident and is to be expressed as a combination of the magnitude of such loss or disruption and the likelihood of occurrence of the incident; shall:
perform model evaluation in accordance with standardised protocols and tools reflecting the state of the art, including conducting and documenting adversarial testing of the model with a view to identifying and mitigating systemic risks means the potential for loss or disruption caused by an incident and is to be expressed as a combination of the magnitude of such loss or disruption and the likelihood of occurrence of the incident;;
assess and mitigate possible systemic risks means the potential for loss or disruption caused by an incident and is to be expressed as a combination of the magnitude of such loss or disruption and the likelihood of occurrence of the incident; at Union level, including their sources, that may stem from the development, the placing on the market means the first making available of a product with digital elements on the Union market;, or the use of general-purpose AI models with systemic risk means the potential for loss or disruption caused by an incident and is to be expressed as a combination of the magnitude of such loss or disruption and the likelihood of occurrence of the incident;;
keep track of, document, and report, without undue delay, to the AI Office and, as appropriate, to national competent authoritiesas defined in Article 46, relevant information about serious incidents means an incident as defined in Article 6, point (6), of Directive (EU) 2022/2555; and possible corrective measures to address them;
ensure an adequate level of cybersecurity means cybersecurity as defined in Article 2, point (1), of Regulation (EU) 2019/881; protection for the general-purpose AI model with systemic risk means the potential for loss or disruption caused by an incident and is to be expressed as a combination of the magnitude of such loss or disruption and the likelihood of occurrence of the incident; and the physical infrastructure of the model.
Providers of general-purpose AI models with systemic risk means the potential for loss or disruption caused by an incident and is to be expressed as a combination of the magnitude of such loss or disruption and the likelihood of occurrence of the incident; may rely on codes of practice within the meaning of Article 56 to demonstrate compliance with the obligations set out in paragraph 1 of this Article, until a harmonised standard means a harmonised standard as defined in Article 2, point (1)(c), of Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012; is published. Compliance with European harmonised standards means a harmonised standard as defined in Article 2, point (1)(c), of Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012; grants providers the presumption of conformity to the extent that those standards means a standard as defined in Article 2, point (1), of Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council (^29^); Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2012 on European standardisation, amending Council Directives 89/686/EEC and 93/15/EEC and Directives 94/9/EC, 94/25/EC, 95/16/EC, 97/23/EC, 98/34/EC, 2004/22/EC, 2007/23/EC, 2009/23/EC and 2009/105/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing Council decision 87/95/EEC and Decision No 1673/2006/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council (OJ L 316, 14.11.2012, p. 12). cover those obligations. Providers of general-purpose AI models with systemic risks means the potential for loss or disruption caused by an incident and is to be expressed as a combination of the magnitude of such loss or disruption and the likelihood of occurrence of the incident; who do not adhere to an approved code of practice or do not comply with a European harmonised standard means a harmonised standard as defined in Article 2, point (1)(c), of Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012; shall demonstrate alternative adequate means of compliance for assessment by the Commission.
Any information or documentation obtained pursuant to this Article, including trade secrets, shall be treated in accordance with the confidentiality obligations set out in Article 78.
