- Scientific panel of independent experts
Article 13 Confidentiality
Experts shall not divulge any information of a confidential nature that they have acquired as part of their work in the scientific panel or as a result of other activities governed by this Regulation. For that purpose, they shall sign a declaration of confidentiality.
Experts shall comply with Article 339 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
Experts shall comply with the rules on confidentiality regarding the protection of Union classified information and sensitive non-classified information, laid down in Commission Decisions (EU, Euratom) 2015/443(3)Commission Decision (EU, Euratom) 2015/443 of 13 March 2015 on Security in the Commission (OJ L 72, 17.3.2015, p. 41, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2015/443/oj). and (EU, Euratom) 2015/444(4)Commission Decision (EU, Euratom) 2015/444 of 13 March 2015 on the security rules for protecting EU classified information (OJ L 72, 17.3.2015, p. 53, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2015/444/oj)..
Where the obligations referred to in paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 are not met, the Commission may take all appropriate measures, including dismissing the expert from the scientific panel.
