Recital 27 Financial entities' reliance on ICT services


Financial entitiesas defined in Article 2, points (a) to (t)’ reliance on the use of ICT services means digital and data services provided through ICT systems to one or more internal or external users on an ongoing basis, including hardware as a service and hardware services which includes the provision of technical support via software or firmware updates by the hardware provider, excluding traditional analogue telephone services; is partly driven by their need to adapt to an emerging competitive digital global economy, to boost their business efficiency and to meet consumer means a natural person who acts for purposes which are outside that person’s trade, business, craft or profession; demand. The nature and extent of such reliance has been continuously evolving in recent years, driving cost reduction in financial intermediation, enabling business expansion and scalability in the deployment of financial activities while offering a wide range of ICT tools to manage complex internal processes.
