Recital 125 Objective and professional execution of supervisory measures

The competent authoritiesas defined in Article 46 should ensure that their supervisory tasks in relation to essential and important entities means a natural or legal person created and recognised as such under the national law of its place of establishment, which may, acting under its own name, exercise rights and be subject to obligations; are carried out by trained professionals, who should have the necessary skills to carry out those tasks, in particular with regard to conducting on-site inspections and off-site supervision, including the identification of weaknesses in databases, hardware means a physical electronic information system, or parts thereof capable of processing, storing or transmitting digital data;, firewalls, encryption and networks. Those inspections and that supervision should be conducted in an objective manner.
