Recital 1 Establishment of the scientific panel

A scientific panel of independent experts in the field of artificial intelligence (the ‘scientific panel’) should be established to support enforcement activities under Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 and to advise and support the European Artificial Intelligence Office (the ‘AI Officemeans the Commission’s function of contributing to the implementation, monitoring and supervision of AI systems and general-purpose AI models, and AI governance, provided for in Commission Decision of 24 January 2024; references in this Regulation to the AI Office shall be construed as references to the Commission;’) in the performance of its tasks.
